about

Oly Ralfe and Ghost Ship Records are happy to announce the release of ‘Live At St Pancras Old Church’, seven instrumentals performed at a concert in London on 10th October 2018. The tracks performed are taken from Oly’s debut solo piano album ‘Notes From Another Sea’.

The performances feature arrangements for a six-piece ensemble of strings, woodwind and brass created by Luke Lewis, and also one solo piano piece. The collaboration began as the first of the Holywell Sessions, concerts by noted Oxford artists featuring ensemble arrangements created with Luke and performed by young classical musicians from the University of Oxford. Luke has made orchestral arrangements for many artists and events including the London Symphony Orchestra, Festival No. 6, and recently for Gaz Coombes' live EP with orchestra.

Oly says: “People have been telling me they’re listening to my album Notes From Another Sea during the current lockdown, so I'm releasing this set of live recordings at a time when people might particularly enjoy listening to them, and also because we can't go to any concerts! Luke Lewis’ delicate arrangements amplify the emotion within the piano pieces. It was a very special collaboration."
